Inspiring Imagination and Success
We’d like to thank our members and guests of all ages who dropped off new and gently used books for children in kindergarten through fifth grade for our Storybook Collection book drive. All donated storybooks will benefit the children learning and growing in YMCA READS! programs across the First Coast.
YMCA READS! seeks to close the gap in students’ reading performance and the State of Florida’s reading performance expectations. The program is limited to first and second graders specifically referred by the participating schools, and the primary focus of the programming is on improving students’ reading grade level equivalency.
This year, nearly 1,900 new and used books were donated to our first book drive. Your generosity and continued support helps us inspire imagination and success for children in our community.
